Volunteers needed for animal rescue in Hurricane Katrina SOURCE: KLFY-TV SALT LAKE CITY A Utah animal shelter is in need of volunteers to help rescue pets displaced from Hurricane Katrina. It's a final mission to rescue the pets -- and volunteers are urgently needed in New Orleans. The work involves capturing dogs and cats on the streets and helping care for them at the rescue center. The rescue program is managed by Best Friends Animal Society. Anyone wishing to donate their time, can call the animal shelter or go online at www.bestfriends.org.
