Dear Mr. Zetsche: Cheers to you! As a marketing and public relations professional currently working in the automobile industry as well as a consumer, I want to congratulate you on your newest commercial for Jeep. Many OEMs have been creating commercials with a humorous or playful twist, but yours accomplishes more than just giggles. You've not only given people something to chat about at the water-cooler, you've challenged the dated stereotype of the Jeep owner and American outdoorsman. Not all rugged types shoot animals with guns, there are a great who use camera to capture their prey. Additionally, you have the positive aspect of associating your vehicles with compassion. Besides being a marketing professional, in my spare time I manage a website dealing with animal welfare issues and showing my own appreciation for wildlife. My humble website averages between 1,000 and 1,500 unique visitors a month, and now they will see a cheerful "two paws up" salute to Jeep and DaimlerChrysler in my "Paws & Claws" section. Congratulations again for producing such a memorable commercial. Sincerely,
Leigh-Anne Dennison |
